SMUDGY ANTICS and MACABRE MONDAY

Good morning and as its Monday i have a couple of new challenges to announce the 1st one being SMUDGY ANTICS...and our theme this week is MASKING.
Interptritate this as you please.... spray inks and masks....stamps and masks or masked images.... we like to encourage you to do something different and try something new to you.
Saying all that, what did i do? I stamped and masked.....one of my favourite things....
...i used images from SMEARED INKS, QUOTE THE RAVEN, AS DEATH and HOLY CITY rubber stamp sets and stamped and masked myself a small collage depicting the Master himself.
I coloured it with promarkers and ink, squared my piece up but cut around the skull at the front, and the angel of deaths wing, to give the piece a little interest..... as if anything with Poe on needs it :) Then mounted it on black card, then onto green that i had stamped and distressed.
We hope you join us this week, in this fun and easy challenge.

Now as its MONDAY it has to be MACABRE http://haunteddesignhouse.blogspot.com/ and our new challenge is .....
"Chic Freaks"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that includes a chic freak or a freakishly chic theme. Get your freak on... in a chic way.
We have been sponsored by STAMPOTIQUE ORIGINALS http://www.stampotique.com ....such weird quirky images you just have to love them!
I made 3...yes 3 fatbook pages with them.
Just one of the crowd, stand out from the crowd, and WHAT CROWD!
I stamped and masked, coloured with promarkers and ink, the 'sentiments' i did on the computer.... and matted my pieces onto black card.
The little guy on' WHAT CROWD?'.... just makes me smile.... he looks so naughty..... and full of himself!
We hope that you'll join us this week.... and look forward to seeing all of your inspiring creations.
I shall enter the following challenges....

  18. Definitely an art to be able to stamp and mask so well! No wonder Suzanne chose to highlight this piece of WORK! Inspirational indeed! (sounds weird) but LOVE the darkness within! Thanks for joining us at LIIU this month and congrats on the highlight over at the blog!

  19. I heartily agree with Kristen - these are flippin' awesome. Can't choose a favorite, although the haunting Poe project is so eye catching. I live in Maryland and sadly it appears our Poe toaster has stopped the tradition of brandy and roses. So, while I think the little impish fellow with "what crowd?" is great too, I do love good ol' Edgar best.

Thank you for sharing your creativity with us at Opus Gluei, it is always fun to see what you've created. You have a great eye for design.
