Good morning....

It's my turn again to share a stamping project over on the
DE-STEMPELWINKEL DESIGNERS blog.

I am back to my own brand of quaint weirdness with the front cover of

an altered board book I'm working on.

HDH MACABRE MONDAY and DOMINO 15 DAYS OF TERROR

I'm a day late with this as blogger doesnt seem to like me much.

MACABRE MONDAY's new challenge was launched yesterday

RIBBONS!!
That's right, ribbons.

No, we haven't gone soft on ya, but we have chosen to set the new
Macabre Monday theme as, "Ripped to Ribbons".
Use ribbons (and rips, if you like) somehow, somewhere, on your project.
That's it, pretty simple.
Oh, remember to make it Hallowe'en or Gothically inspired.
No sissy stuff here.

 My little box is also part of DOMINOART 's 15 DAYS OF TERROR....
Where we celebrate Hallowe'en in May.
I covered a little wooden box with designer papers,
gesso'ed two dominos and stamped the skeleton frog from de-Stampelwinkel onto them.
I stuck these with stron glue onto my box top, gave them a coat of glossy accents, and tied a ribbon around them.
You have two weeks to join us at HDH.... Hope to see you there.

My offering for this one is pretty simple,
using one of the MER-BABES from SMEARED INK. I recycled an old 5inch squre box frame....

 into a little underwater scene....

 I used 4 toned shades of acrylic paint,

promarkers to colour the merbabe, that I decoupaged to give dimension.

 I used real dried seaweed, shells, moss and sand plus some

netting, string and plastic twiggy thing!

I stamped over my painted background with silver ink on a large crackle stamp

to look like water ripples.

I made a card.... yep another card, its getting to be a bit of a habit these days....
i'm not one for kits and stuff but I saw some folks I follow in blogland using
''GOTHIC GRUNGE'' from LELLI-BOT CRAFTS.... so thought , for a change i'd
give it a go. So the image and backing paper.... which you can hardly see, are from the kit.
The flowers/leaves I also made from the same backing paper.

I do hope you'll join us this month....
also its the start of a new month at
ALTERED ECLECTICS,
as always its an ALTER ANYTHING, ANYTHING GOES challenge...
so i started with this...

....and ended up with this...

I just embossed black cardstock with a folder... i think its actually a crow...
but it looks quite like a RAVEN..... adhered it to the wooden money box,
then rubbed it over with a bronze metallic wax, followed by a silver wax...
I wanted it to look like a siver-plated box that had had years of polishing so that the plate
has been worn away.

HDH MACABRE MONDAY

"Working in the lab, late one night".

Basically, we at HDH, macabre monday would like to see your interpretation of a

mad scientist's lab, his creations, experiments, rats, beakers, etc..

Or maybe even your own experimentation. Be creative!

Here is my take on the theme,

using images from SMEARED INK

 ....Unfortunatly i'm no good with doing digital stuff so my images are all cut'n'paste...

with the details behind the glass bottles drawn in by hand.

I coloured it all with promarkers and pencils.

I knew exactly what I was gonna do with the image I chose to work with...
a 10''x12'' Canvas.

 I added a little crumpled tissue paper to my canvas before painting it with various watery coloured acrylic paints.
I printed the images onto tissue paper, coloured them with alcohol markers
and carefully cut them out.

 I them adhered them to my painted canvas.
Once completely dry I over stamped it all with a large crackle stamp and silver ink.
I hope it gives you the impression of water ripples/waves.

HDH MACARBRE MONDAY, NEW CHALLENGE

Welcome back to another exciting Macabre Monday challenge!!

The new challenge theme is

StEaMpUnK JuNk

That's right, it's time to gather up those bits and bobs, odd and ends, and

make something Steampunk-y with them!

That's why there are metallic paints, right?

The idea is to reuse, or up-cycle something(s) in your junk drawer,

or something destined for the trash bin.

Make it into a Steampunk inspired project.

Got it?

I have made a fascinator....

some mesh ( you know those things you scrub yourself with in the bath tub?)

feathers, beads, dragonfly, watch parts etc.

 The dragonfly and watchinnard thingy are those metal casting things,

 I added AB stones from an old brooch, TH cogs,

 and tiny watch parts to make it look more authentic.

 A few feathers and some beads and its ready to go.

One of my girls agreed to model it for me so you can roughly see the size.

QUOTH THE RAVEN... NEW QUEST

Blogger doesn't  like me much this week...

but it seems that I can add photos today,

so without further ado...

We have a new QUEST #31 at QUOTH THE RAVEN

 POEcabulary  ... taketh thee any works by Edgar Allan POE

 and createth for him a tribute in whatever form taketh thy fancie.

Thy creation shalt be connected in some form akin to The Master.

This is what I finally came up with after days of 'brain-fade'

 I used an old paper back book, that I tore in half,

folded some of the pages in half....

rolled the very centre pages into two columns...

using IKES ART Poe and Raven images I made new ''pages'' to cover the

pages i'd left flat at the sides.... I couldn't leave these showing as its not a Poe book!

 I stamped and cut-out arches to act as supports as well as decoration.

Stamped  and fussy-cut a raven to sit atop of the centre arch.

 I embellished with bits and bobs from previous projects and bits from my ever growing stash.

I then made a hard-back cover for my new book.

I made some faux suede from kraft-type packing paper... its not to easy to see but its been embossed, 

and stamped.... its much more tactile in real life.
