SMEARED INK NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP

SMEARED INK have a fantastic new digi release today..... click on my title to go to the shop..... there is a brilliant offer on at the moment... BUY 2 DIGI SETS....GET A 3RD FREE!!! I was given this wonderful...marvelous..... fantastic.... (can ya tell i like this image?) to work with, i just adore this dragony, lizardy thingy..... so much so that i had to print him out huge...as well as on the full image....

...... i used bright colours...very unusual for me...... lots of gems and pearls...also very unusual for me....... leaves and swirls all fussy cut from a wall paper border.... a chipboard word...BLISS.... 'cos i think he looks completely BLISSFUL.

My wall art is done onto a box canvas...that i painted azure blue then use 'envy' (green) to distress it.... i use 2 different background stamps for this..... which are still in soaking to get the paint out of the crevasses.... i coloured my images with promarkers....

thats about it really....all very simple..... all very not me!

DELICIOUS DOODLES

'Fantasy and Mythical Beasties' ...............


............................is the brand new challenge at DELICIOUS DOODLES.... i have done so few of my DT samples lately as my Nan is so poorly, that i really need to apologise to everyone.
SORRY!

I have used Teri's beautiful PEGASUS..... coloured very subtly with promarkers, just to give him the same colour tint as the pearl beads and glass hearts.

I made a necklace, using silver grey and aqua ribbon..... silver, and aqua coloured pearls, aqua crystals and siver and cream seed pearly beads.

I used silver grey satin and aqua lace to make this flower brooch that can be removed and worn alone.

The beautiful PEGASUS is set into a crystal surrounded mount.... and glazed over.

My pictures dont show the true colours.... as its silver and blue.... really pretty and feminine.... its one of the prettiest things i have ever made.... damn i'm getting girly!!!

MACABRE MONDAY

YAY its Monday and at last i have something to share with you guys..... we have a brand new challenge and its......
"Freaker's Free-for-All"


You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project without any rules! That's right, anything goes as long as it is in done with a flair for the macabre :)

I have been (slowly.... very slowly) altering another porcelain doll ...... this time i actually made all the clothes, i used one of my daughters baby dress, and the cloak is made from scraps from one of the christmas outfits i made the girls a couple of years back ( ...except the shoes.... they have just been altered with alcohol inks....... )
This is DONNA, AKA DEAD RIDING HOOD.........

.............................She looks pretty normal ........ cute and sweet in fact......


............................. but when she takes her hood down..................................

..................... not quite so cute now ...is she?

I built the texture of her face up in layers......the lesions where made in the layers and then painted so they have some depth.......

................. this picture shows her pretty clothes..... and shiny red shoes.....





......this picture shows her 'flaky' dead skin..... and blood red eyes....... her arms and legs have the same paint job on them as her face..... i used acrylics and sealed them with a matt spray varnish... i removed her hair before i started the make over.... replaced it after and cut it into a cute bob.......

SMEARED INK...DRAGON(WEDNES)DAY

Today is my day to post on the SMEARED INK DT blog....SMUDGY ANTICS ...... this is my offering for this week..... a layout using one of the beautiful Victorian hearses from DEATH CAB DIGI SET.I followed roughly a sketch from SCRAPS OF DARKNESS http://www.scrapsofdarkness.com/index.html .....used papers and various bits and bobs from my stash.....

heat embossed a stamped heart....cracked it.... coloured and distressed some silk flowers..... heat embossed a raven on the left hand side... added lace, charms ,chain .... black pearls....

and actually just had fun with it.....

Macabre Mondays

Sorry i have been MIA for over a week, i have been rather poorly, but on the mend now, and hopefully back into my DT stuff soon. Its Monday so its gotta be MACABRE..... Ok, macabre fans... your challenge this week: "Zombie Apocalypse" You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based zombie project in a suitably macabre fashion. They are coming to get you... well you might be redeemed if you come up with a suitably macabre zombie creation............ ............ this is ANDREA.... named after my HDH teamie and challenge host. She started life as a cute porcelain doll 23 years ago...

...............but now has been transformed into .... APOCALYPTIC ANDREA...... with a lump of half eaten heart in one hand and entrails in the other. Her skin has that nasty long dead gungy green hue, with vivid red lesions and weeping puss.

Her clothes and hair are getting quite tattered and dirty from her frequent jaunts to and from her grave. She has dreadful weeping wounds on both her legs and as you can see the flesh is becoming vile and putrid.

For ANDREA's makeover i used alcohol inks on the porcelain and eyes....the lunch in her hands is modeled from pva.

Her clothes have been altered and remade after dying with strong tea.... the lace on her dress has drips of nail polish blood on the front.

I had great fun altering Andrea over 4 days.... and have another doll already in a state of undress.

TRY IT ON TUESDAY AND THE NEW RELEASE/END OF TERM BLOG HOP FOR SMEARED INK

Welcome to the final blog hop for this DT at SMEARED INK. We have 4 NEW DIGI SETS being released to day and 3 SINGLE DIGIS........ i was given OCTOBAT to work with and as an added challenge we were asked to use stamps from at least another 2 SMEARED INK SETS. The new challenge at TRY IT ON TUESDAY is to alter a frame.... so i combined my 2 DT projects into one..... sorry guys but i have very limited time and both projects gelled so well!The frame is actually a stretched canvas that i have turned over, i made sculpture paper and covered the edges of the 'frame'..... i used black paint, copper and gold metallic rubbing paste to high light the creases. I made corners and covered them with sculpture paper.... rubbed them with bronze paste and added green 'n' gold studs..... these i glued on...... so thats the challenge at TRY IT ON TUESDAY..... please play along if you can. The image i used comes from the new CREATURE FEATURE digi set.... The word OBSESSION and the FLYING HEARTS are from WINGED HEART digi set, The twiggy branches are part of a nymph from the rubber NYMPHS SET, The wire mesh in the background is from QUOTE THE RAVEN rubber set, The crosses are from the digi set GLAM VAMPS, The raven flying across the moon is from the rubber HOLY CITY set, and finally THE thorns around the edge are from the rubber FAES set.

The photos dont show it very well but there are layers and depth ... the main image is on acetate supports.... as are some of the winged hearts.... as i am a techno-idiot all the digi stuff is printed out then cut and pasted together....

i used promarkers to colour all the images.... various colours of ink for the background.....

and lots of very fussy cutting to make everything work as i wanted it to.

DRAGONDAY AT SMEARED INK

Wednesday is my day on the DT blog at SMEARED INK..... it would be great if you can go, take a look and become a follower..... please? ( click on the title of this post..... there is some really inspiring stuff on there!)
I have been having POE withdrawal symptons.... and after seeing the great sketch at CREATE4FUN, i thought i'd do another 'wall-art' piece.
I have used POE from QUOTE THE RAVEN, and 3 images from HOLY CITY.... all from SMEARED INK of cause.

I stamped and masked Poe, on a piece of very thick board from the back of a watercolour pad,and over stamped with a grave stamp.... i coloured it with ink then i triple embossed it to make a tile. I covered 2 other squares of the board with faric and stamped on them... i washed over those with ink too.... and distressed and aged the edges.

I used a double page i had removed from the Poe book i am altering, and cut a circle, inked and distressed . I used screw style brads.... and metal photo corners..... i made the 3 cameo thingies.... added the words 'love and dream', and used 2 bits of off cut wall paper for my backings.... both aged and distressed....alot!

MACABRE MONDAY

It's monday and we have a brand new challenge for you..... ands its......
................................................................"Dastardly Divas!"
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project that includes a diva.
We want to see women who still look fabulous even when performing acts so vile and vicious that Dracula himself would blush. Lipgloss and bloodlust, it's a winning combination!

I was given IVY to work with....... and started off thinking...'poison'.... but decided to do (Pagan)Eostra, as yesterday was the 1st day of spring.

I had a wooden sun/flower shaped mirror waiting to be altered.....i removed the mirror, painted the frame , green, then sponged dark green and black over it once dry. The centre circle is stamped coloured and triple embossed.... the stone circle stamp is from Non- sequitur, i covered chipboard letters in sculpture paper i made, and cut tiny flowers from it.

I used 'silk' ivy leaves to cover most of the frame..... if you look closely there are also some tiny 'gold' metal leaves, gems, and glass-like flowers .....................

Ivy doesnt look 'DASTERDLY' but most people.... (not me i hasten to add as i am a closet Pagan) seem a little worried by Paganism, and associate it purely with the occult and witchcraft.

TRY IT ON TUESDAY DONE SMEARED INK STYLE.

I wanted so much to get something done for my DT spot at TRY IT ON TUESDAY but i didnt get it finished, so i have teamed it with todays SMEARED INK dt post.
Try it on tuesday has CHOCOLATE as the new challenge....so i used shades of brown, creamy vanilla and a minty green.
The victorian ladies and gents are SMEARED INK http://smudgyantics.blogspot.com/ SMITTEN digi stamps. This wall-art piece is made up of 16x 2 &1/2inch squares..... 3 of the squares are fabric covered, the other 13 are all stamped and decorated. I used loads of stamps but they are mainly from DESTEMPELWINKEL.

I have used ink, acrylic paint, alcohol ink and promarkers.

The ladies and gents are coloured with promarkers.

There is lace....lots of it.....gems, pearls,ribbon, brads, broken jewelry, bits and bobs i had laying around....i hate to waste anything.

I have reused mount board as the backing for the individual squares.

I made 2 different sorts of flowers using scraps of silk and taffeta, with pearly brads in the middle. The flower at the top has 2 layers.... and the leaves and bobbly bits are rescued from last years christmas crackers.

If you can see the images in the background, you'll see they are of LONDON .

HEY!!!! Its monday and i'm actually posting MACABRE MONDAYS new challenge!

Heres what i came up with this week.... 2 pendants/necklaces.
The pendants have stamped images, coloured with promarkers, that i have mounted into reclaimed mounts... and then glazed with diamond glaze.

Just incase you're wondering..... i cracked the glaze on both to make 'em look 'old'.... when i dont want to crack my glaze it happens easily... with these... especially the adult skull... i actually had to hit it with a hammer!

Both necklaces are made using lovely vintage green glass beads,& olde gold coloured chain.

Smeared and smudged blog members hop and a very late MACABRE MONDAY

Firstly i need to say i'm so sorry that my DT piece for MACABRE MONDAYS didnt go up.... i have put it at the bottom of this post.





Today we at the SMEARED AND SMUDGED FORUM are having our March blog hop, and the theme is BROWN and GREEN.




I have made another mixed media piece of wall art.


I have used lots of 'stuff'....... sculpture paper i made, images from SMEARED INK i stamped onto pages from an E.A POE book that i'm altering.... very slowly..... rusty metal, washers, so much 'stuff' that most people would call junk!

I thought i'd alter this cute little bag..... it is just big enough for a purse and a packet of ciggies.... oh dear you can tell this dragon still smokes!

The skull is from SMEARED INK..... the AS DEATH set. Sorry about such a long post but things have been crazy here this week.... and i am just about dead on my feet.... i didnt know i could feel this bad!

Delicious doodles.... 2days late!

Ok.... how i forgot to put this up i dont know! But i did.... so sorry to everyone at DELICIOUS DOODLES..... we have a new challenge for you...it started FRIDAY..... and its to MAKE THE CARD YOU'D WANT TO RECEIVE. I used a variety of TERI's images...5 to be exact.... and as i am a computer idiot i had to print each one out the cut and paste 'em all together! I used shades of brown and black/grey.... heat embossed some of the cogs with copper/ verdigri embossing powers, MS punch, black card stock, and copper rub-on creme. I really dont like making cards but i actually enjoyed making this..... apart from all thr 'fussy-cutting' i had to do...but i think it looks fairly ok.
