stampin for the weekend

The challenge this week is 'pink and grey' .... so thought i'd get another christmas card out of the way and use my lovely new stamps.... well i love them... think its a case of love them or hate them... no middle ground with these.
I used papers i printed off the artilicious christmas cd last year.... a bit of mirri board and coloured the girl in with promarkers.

More the merrier

I have been wanting to use this lovely elusive image stamp set for ages and finally did.
I stamped and embossed the seahorse using cosmic shimmers embossing powder... and drew extra fronds of seaweed in by hand and coloured them with mica powder.
the frame and the background for the picture are painted with emerald lustre ... my fav colour at the moment for my altered stuff.
The edges of the frame have been rubbed with gold paste.

The challenge for this week at ART ON THE DARKSIDE is moths.
I used a lovely non sequtur stamp and kiss stamped the background with a mesh stamp... unknown make... sorry... coloured with metallic pencils and used a white pen for highlights.

Tuesday taggers....

Tuesday Taggers challenge this week is 'to fill a jar as a gift'... heres my offering.
I stamped 4 of the gorguss girls onto clear film, coloured them with sakura glaze pens,so that they are see-thro, carefully cut them out as although the film is clear, on glass its not!!!! Stuck on on each side of my square jar, painted the lid silver , stuffed jar with flowers and hey-ho...DONE.

Dragonsdream, tag it on.

The challenge at Dragonsdreams this week is inspired my the saying 'a circle embraces. a line divides'.
I made this round tag with this in mind and used celtic designs as it uses the circle and never ending lines alot. The words are for frankie and fred. I hope they have found love never ending.
The background is made from mica sprays, the images are stamped and embossed in white, the heart knots are coloured with metallic pencils. The edging is stamped,embossed then cut out and arranged on foam pads to give depth. Thanks for taking time to look. love lynx

I had great fun making this atc... i used 6 stamps, masking as i went along... i coloured everything in with promarkers, i choose the colours that i think shout '50s'.

Theres magic in the air and bizzy becs

'Theres magic in the air'
this week is to make a gate fold card
using the lovely beached boat image provided...thank you nina.
I used the image to trace onto a bit of
recycled food container.... the image
should be facing the other way but i'm
a techno idiot and dont know how to 'flip' it.
I engraved the image then mounted it onto cork before mounting it onto my distressed base.
I added a sentiment coloured with the same ink as the metal etching.

I love promarkers and passion for promarkers

The 'I love promarker' challenge is a great sketch... will be using it again i'm sure, especially as i must get on with christmas cards!!!

The challenge this week at 'Passion for promarkers' is to use 'Prussian and Pumpkin' with a halloeen theme.

I used my favourite 2 gorguss girls.... these 2 are my twins... one sitting sweet and quiet, the other having a strop!!! The haunted house and the pumpkin are from 'Tanda stamps' I stamped and masked the girls and house to make a scene, coloured them with promarkers, coloured the strip across the middle with prussian to match, the pumpkin was cut out and added on foam.

The promarkers used are, prussian, pumpkin, blush, pastel pink, ice grey 1/3 and 5.

I also used a white pen for the high lights.

The picture on the right shows the girls and house in close up so you get a better look at the detail and how the scene was made with masking.

Three muses

This weeks challenge at the three muses is ' add wings'.... i did another
page on a beer mat for the book i'm making.The large flower is from last years calender,
the other colourful images are victorian scraps and the lady i drew and coloured in grey with promarkers as i wanted her to fade into the background, i added a colourful pair of wings to match the butterfly beside her.

This weeks challenge is to make a 'Hallow pennant'

I made 2... will make more nearer the time.

I have used 'non sequtur' and 'Tanda stamps'

I've used a pearlised orange card to stamp on then stamed and cut out the other elements... then mounted the orange triangles on to black card.... later on i shall string them together.

Three muses

The challenge this week at the three muses is 'HATS'

I used a paperartsy stamp on a scrap piece of patterned card..... i then made him a snazzy red hat out of glitter card and added a rather fetching red rose.... i painted out the words on the bottom of the image and then stamped ' a muse made me do it' which were a freebie from paperartsy.

I think he looks more sinister with the red hat than he did originally.

Rainbow lady.... my guest designer week

This week at 'RAINBOWLADY'S' challenge... the link is in my side bar... i am the guest designer!!!!
I spent ages trying to think of a theme... not easy when my challenge is number 72!!! But then it hit me... DRAGONS.... or even dragonflies... just something dragonish.
I made 2 atcs... very different kinds of dragons, the one on the right is a stamp of unknown origin... sorry.... stamped onto parchment, coloured with sakura pens and highlighted with mica... cut out... what a job!!! mounted onto a piece of oriental looking card, and finished with a charm and chinese coin.
The one below is the dragon and castle from joanna sheens messy rabbit collection... hes so cute and the castle is very 'usable'... i stamped the castle on to an atc size piece of water colour paper i'd let the girls colour blue... then coloured the castle with water colour pencils, i stamped the dragon, coloured him with water colour and metallic pencils and made him a little stand so he is mounted in front of the castle... i put a ribbon round his neck with a charm on.... the charm fell off without me noticing before i took the pic.. i see!!!!
Anyhow ... thats it... please go over and have a go at doing something dragon... there is a prize this week... have fun... i did.

Tuesday taggers....

The theme at tuesday taggers this week is

'birds and bees'... this is my DT piece.

I used a small wooden box that i've been saving, and painted it with emerald lustre paint, i used rub-ons that i high lighted with gold leaf. The edges of the box have been rubbed with gold cream.

Rainbow lady and stampin for the weekend

The challenge this week at 'rainbowladys' is 'S is for...' so for me 's' is for silver snowflakes..... like cynthia i really do need to get some christmas cards done.

I have used papers from my stash and a pixie chick digi stamp frm charmed/dotties world.

Stampin for the weekend has this sketch as their challenge... its a great sketch... think i'll be using it again and again.... especially with the dreaded christmas cards.

I love promarkers and dotties world

I Have used the sketch from 'i love promarkers', its their 1st challenge so i wanted to take part, and this weeks theme at 'Dotties world' is monochromatic.

I have used one of the pixie chick digi stamps from charmed/dottie world and coloured her with 2 shades of ice grey,and silver promarkers.

Papers ribbon etc is from my christmas stash box so sorry but dont know who made them.

Anyone for anya

There is a new challenge , anyone for anya, thought as its new i'd give it a go as i have some of the stamps, my girls love anya, well they love anything girly really, and love colouring in... the amount of stuff jane and i stamp out for them is incredible.

Anyhow...I followed the sketch that 'dawny' provided, i used papers from my stash, coloured her with promarkers and used glossy accents on her boots, bag and hairband... i tied a handbag charm on the ribbon.

PROMARKER AND CORROSIVE

The promarker challenge this week is a sketch and corrosive is a colour challenge,

'pumpkin-pie,ruby red. and bermuda bay'.

I used 'mikey' digi stamp from 'charmed/ dotties world' and coloured him with promarkers in as closer colours as i could.

I used agean, ruby, pumpkin, blush, pastel pink,

raw sienna, terracotta and ice grey 1&3.

The card and papers are DCWV.

Three muses

The challenge this week for the three muses is 'ART IN THE ROUND'.

This is the 1st 'page' of my beer mat book.

I made a background using paint, i mixed the colours myself and added mica to get a shimmer.

I stamped the ladys head/face in black and added colour with promarkers. I then stamped a clock face on the left hand edge and mesh.

I inked the edge with dark grey then mounted it to my beer mat... i havent done the back yet, might keep that for another challenge.

I wrote 'time is too...' in a spiral on top of my images... i saw a sticker once with these words on and they've stayed in my mind ever since. Thanks for stopping by. love lynx

stampin for the weekend

The challenge at 'stampin for the weekend' this week is 'ALTER SOMETHING'.

I had this lovely little wooden box just sitting waiting for me to do something with it... and a friend staying who has nowhere to put the 'junk' out of his pockets at night so i made this.

I painted the box with ivory acrylic paint, then stamped directly on it it. I coloured the images with chalk and metallic pencils, i inked the edges and covered the sides of the lid with very thin cork as i figure this is the bit that will wear most.

The image on top and on the sides have been sprayed with matt vanish.

All the stamps used are from TANDA STAMPS.

Art on the darkside... cobwebs

Art on the darkside this week has the challenge of 'cobwebs'.
I made 2 atcs using non sequtuer stamps... the one with the skull on( dont know who made the skull stamp...sorry) the cobweb is stamped then mica powder brushed over it.
The 'grave tidings' one is just stamped onto orange card with black ink then highlighted with white pen one the skeleton and mica powder in the centre of the cobweb.

Sunday post card this week has 'BINGO' as the theme.

This is my entry... 'FULL HOUSE'

I made a background using metallic acrylic paint... cut a house shape out of a kiddies bingo card , added some children cut from victorian scraps, a few numbers cut from the scraps of bingo card and then stamped 'full house' and 'bingo' at the bottom.

CRAFTY CREATIONS...

The challenge this week is to take inspiration from the work of LAUREN ALEXANDER.
This is what i came up with.... i water coloured a background, then sprayed it with pearl glimmermists.
I drew i very rough shape of a tree, flowers and a bird then watercoloured the bird and tree... with loose washes, then put detail in with watercolour pencil whilst the paper was still damp.

Rainbowladys challenge...

The challenge this week is to include 4 corners.
This atc is stamped with an elusive image rose stamp on to a background i made using watercolour paint and salt crystals.
I highlighted the rose and around it with metallic pencils.
I dont know who made or sold the corners or the pretty bit in the middle...sorry.

Pro marker challenge

The challenge this week is a sketch and the colours cool aqua and pastel pink.
I used papers from my stash, paper ribbon i coloured with pastel pink promarker and DCWV card.The stamped image i think is by 'whipper snapper' but i'm not 100% sure.
I also used ice grey 1, blush, and pastel blue as well as cool aqua and pastel pink.

The three muses... inspirational people

The challenge this week over at the three muses is 'inspirational people'.

As i adore the works of 'da Vinci' i thought i'd make a stamped collage depicting some of his best known pieces.

The stamps i used i brought at 'Scrapz'.

They are all stamped using 2 colours of ink and highlighted with metallic pencils.

Its finished with 2 metal corners . the word 'dream' and then mounted on to scrap cardboard.

The challenge this week at 'Dragonsdreams' is 'time flies'.

The tag is coloured with mica and ink, the stamped with various time pieces.

I stamped 2 pocket watches and glazed their faces, one of them i added stamped wings to... that i coloured with blue mica.

finally a blue ribbon was tied through the whole.

Tuesday taggers.... & the craft barn

The challenge this week at 'Tuesday Taggers' is to make a wall hanging.
I made a friend one similar to this late last year after seeing something like it in 'craft stamper' magazine.
I have used a varity of 'crafty individuals' stamps and 3 colours of stazon inks to stamp the 'girl' images... then matted them on to inked card.
The hanger its self is made from card from the back of sketch books that i inked then covered in tissue papaer that i'd stamped with crafty individuals stamps.
the 4 sections are tied together with 2 colours of ribbon.
