DAY #16 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN and DELICIOUS DOODLES

Hello on this wet and windy saturday.
For my project today i have used the new image from DELICIOUS DOODLES...to go straight to the 'shop' just click on my title.
This beautiful raven is called THE WATCHER..... and i really enjoyed my play with him.
It took me 2 days to complete this..... well 2 days in bits.... and amazingly it is nearly exactly what i had in my head! That doesnt often happen like that for me. I printed out the image on to patterned paper...... and coloured over the pattern with promarkers and ink.
I painted my frame a chalky pink.... when dry i repainted it black.... then sanded it... then applied metallic paste very lightly to the sanded areas.
I covered the mount in the same paper as i printed the watcher on and distressed the hell out of it!
My background is more of the same paper that i coloured with ink at the edges and embossed with black roughly..... i then stamped chicken wire randomly around the sides.
I embossed in black the word 'nevermore' form SMEARED INK... QUOTE THE RAVEN..... and set about putting all the bits together.

I tore some black netting and laid some on to the glass before i put the mount in..... then added the mount... more netting, some dried 'mother-die' (weeds my girls and i collected on the way home from school!) and a small twig for my watcher to perch on.....

The photos are a bit here and there as the glass holds everything in place so cant be removed to take the pictures.... but i wanted to show you all the details.... so please excuse the glare.

I adore RAVENS.... and hope you like this project as its a bit different for me. The list of WICKED BLOGS is at the top of my side bar.... enjoy looking at everyones fantastic art... have a great saturday, see you tomorrow... thanks for stopping by.
love lynx

  10. This is incredible dragon! I love the inking up of the paper - it still holds the beautiful pattern - very clever! I love the netting and the twigs - really stands out and it's a beautiful raven - not so dark and ghoulish, but definitely dark and eerie---run lest he gnaws at your eyes...>! Good job!
