Art adventure... DAZZLE OF DRAGONFLIES

The challenge at 'ART ADVENTURE' this month is 'a dazzle of dragonflies'.
I have tons of scrap cardboard laying around so i thought i'd use some of it for this project.
I took a 4''x4'' square and distressed it...alot! I gave it a watered down coat of acrylic paint, stamped it with a 'crafty individuals' dragonfly stamp and added another set of wings stamped on vellum. I added lots of bits and bobs i had laying around... all salvaged or scraps from other projects... and finally i stamped a larger dragonfly... i think its from stamp addicts... correct me if i'm wrong!!!... on to vellum, painted its body and tail with silver ink and added glass beads them attached it to the 'card' with silicon so it looks as if its just landed.

corrosive challenge... ENGLAND

This weeks challenge at corrosive challenge is 'our own country'... i have
made a set of atcs in a folder.
They have been stamped on the racing pages of grandads saturday paper.
I coloured them very sparingly with pencils so you can read the 'paper'
through them. If anyone wants to swap this set, please let me know, its not ear-marked for anyone yet.

The old bus and old fashioned bobby are a close up of the front of the wallet.

I used a tag i water coloured and cut the foiled flowers off the packaging from some llb stamps... a bit of ribbon and lace... a rub-on and this is 'happiness'

Just magnolia

This weekss challenge at JUST MAGNOLIA is a lovely sketch.... i know i'll use it again.... so this is what i came up with... Beryl, thank you for 'tilda'... i coloured her with promarkers.... the papers are some 12x12 i found lurking on a shelf and the 'lace' is recycled from my girls pram set.

stampin for the weekend.... pocket card

The challenge this week at 'Stampin for the weekend' is to make a pocket
or wallet card.
This is what i came up with... i've put 4 pockets inside... could have put a few more but its all i needed.... i used DCWV papers and a U-MOUNT
faerie poppet stamp, coloured with promarkers.
The pockets have stamped images in them.... watch for the postie mid-week christine as this is heading your way... sorry for the wait.

The three muses.... wild things...and art on the darkside

Over at the three muses this week the challenge is 'wild things'...

i doctored a photograph...made it plain black and white then stamped wolves in black ink on to the white face area... i love to see wolves in the wild (on tv of cause... never been lucky enough to see them for real)... i coloured the wolfs eye and my ( yes that is me... and yes i can be pretty wild!!!!!)eyes in metallic green.

Rainbowladys challenge... SUNFLOWERS

This is my 4x4 for the challenge this week set by rainbow lady.
I'm not sure that they are sunflowers but they look sunny to me!!!
I cloloured her in with pro markers, background is pencil then the edges are inked... i stamped a few extra flowers and decoupaged them just to give it a little more 'life'.

This weeks challenge at DRAGONSDREAM, tag it on, is

'ETERNAL GODDESS'.... i choose to use 'non sequter' stamps and do sort of a celtic type tag.... sorry her dress doesnt seem to fit so good!!!

I used ink and my good old metallic pencils again to colour her with.

Another 3 in 1

This card is for 3 challenges...
SECRET CRAFTER SATURDAY CHALLENGE...pink and green.
ROSIE DEES....pink and lime...( promise i will do better!!!!) and
JUST CHRISTMAS AND BIRTHDAYS.... SKETCH.
I used paper and card for my stash, gems, glitter and coloured the fairy in pro markers... pastel pink and lime green with the usual for me ice gray 1 for shading.

PRO MARKER challenge.... LEMON & MEADOW GREEN, i also used ivory, blush, satin, and ice gray 1.
ALLSORTS challenge this week is 'WINGS'.... and finally
STAMP WITH FUN... is this lovely sketch.... sorry i had to leave off the flowers but hopefully i havent spoilt it to much.
I used K&CO tim coffey papers and lots of gems... and oh yes glitter on the wings.

Dotties world... christmas in june.

The challenge over at Dotties world this week is 'christmas in june'.

I brought the amazing pixies digi stamps.... and a few other non virtual things just happened to full into my basket...as they do...

so i had to use this gorgeous little holly pixie.... sorry about this but i amputated... she felt no pain... honest.... her wings and headdress and replaced them with holly leaves i cut from silk.... i hope thats allowed!!!???

Rainbowladys challenge... CUPCAKES

CUPCAKES.... what could be difficult about this challenge over at RAINBOW LADYS challenge blog this week?...well having only one stamp of a cupcake and not being able to find it...thats what!!!
So heres my offering ... a cheats card made just using what papers i have in my stash ....DCWV- the sweet stack and K&CO brenda walton- sweet talk.

Dragonsdream, tag it on...simplicity and serenity

This angel i simply adore.... and i think she fits the bill perfectly.... simplicity and serenity is the challenge on Dragonsdream tag it on challenge this week.... so i just stamped her in black, coloured her in metallic pencils and added a ribbon to a basic shaped parcel tag.

corrosive challenge... lets fold it

I've had a really busy few days , so i've not been around, my Nan had an op on friday as a day patient... 24 stitches in her poor old face!!! Havent had much sleep since as shes very sore and very
uncomfortable.My twins had their birthday party sunday, and
it was their 4th birthday yesterday (monday).
This is my entry in the 'Corrosive challenge' this week... 'lets fold it'.
Its made from one sheet of 12x12 card, divided into 9 x4inch squares and the 4 corner ones cut away.
I've stamped and embossed mostly but i've also used stickers, peel offs, ribbon, beads....
I really like making these cards... they really look impressive in real life.

Crafts 4 eternity,sketch

This week there is a great sketch at crafts for eternity.... this is my 'take' on it... i have tried to stick to it but i had so much i wanted to put on it as its for my dad.... i love these victorian scraps and so does he... and the beach huts are a favourite of ours... there is a long row of them along the beach here... love these words too... hope my dad does.... nice and not to slushy.

stampin for the weekend.... &promarker

These challenges i found rather difficult as i have very few digi stamps and the colours of the promarker challenge are so much brighter than i normally like to use... anyway i finally choose a dragon digi stamp from 'ultimate fantasy' cd i had lurking on the shelf... so thats the 'stampin for the weekend' challenge bit... then the promarker colours are,

berry red and royal blue the only other colour pen i used was warm grey 4. I cut a 6x6 inch card with a tea plate to give the top a curve and used plain papers to match the red and blue. I hand cut the swirls and coloured them with royal blue promarker... i added faux stitching with a white pen and thats about it.... a very bright creation.

This is my entry in Rosie and Dee'a challenge ... turquoise and chocolate.
Used card from stash and the brown papers are HOTP. I altered a chipboard flower and used 'smile' rub-on... a couple of bits of ribbon and lots of distressing.

corrosive challenge...

Thought i'd better get my Grandads fathers day card made and when i saw the sketch on Corrosive challenges i just knew what i wanted to do.
I used 'U-MOUNT' stamps... Tim holtz distress inks, a rub-on greeting and some cork letters.
I love these U-MOUNT stamps, you can do so much with them.

Just magnolia/ Friday sketchers

I combined 2 challenges in one here... friday sketches and just magnolia... whose challenge is paper piecing.

Tilda has been 'pieced' using scraps of 'freebie' papers and the cards been made from mainly odds and ends from my christmas scrap box.

Last year in mid december i had to made 50 cards for my girls to take to pre-school... this year i dont wanna get caught out again so i'm sorry but i'm starting to make my christmas cards.

The three muses...alter 'MONA'

I found a great challenge site ... The three muses, and their challenge this week is to alter 'Mona lisa'.... well as you can see i have.... twice!!!!
I used a stamp...dont know whose.... of mona and played with alcohol inks... cotton buds ... and metallic card.
Stamped a heart in the corner just cos i could.... and thats my entry in the challenge... now to scrub my hands before tea!!!!

Tuesday taggers...card,tag and gift wrap to match

Really enjoyed this challenge... used plain brown packaging paper, dampened it, sprayed it with mahogany glimmer mist crumpled it all up, rubbed over crumpled surface with tim holtz distress ink,faded jeans, then stamped using tattoo type images... they're cheap foam ones, designed for kids, and high lighting with perfect pearls. I wrapped a 'pressie' and still have a little bit of paper left over.

Double dutch.... Bookmark

When i found this challenge site i thought... oh yes, great, i need a new book mark.

I took my inspiration from the envelope corner i am using at the moment... high tech stuff i know, but it dont slip out like a normal book mark... because its slipped on the corner.

have used scrap of paper from my stash, some ribbon, ric-rac and a charm. the lady is a TANDA stamp and the words are a serendipty cling stamp.

Over at CORROSIVE CHALLENGES its a card for your Dad or a man in your life.... this is for my brother in law.... what do 40yr old blokes like?

Cars and pretty women in short skirts!!!!! Probably not in that order.

Dotties world... holey.... challenge

This is my 1st 'charmed cards, dotties world challenge' and my 1st ever go with a digi-stamp.... found it rather strange not geting inky fingers!!!!

The challenge is 'holey'... so i ripped a hole in the front of my card and cut

'mikey' out and mounted him in front of the tattered hole so he looks as if hes ridden though... the papers are DCWV and mikey's coloured with pro markers.
