APRIL'S SMEARED AND SMUDGED MEMBERS BLOG HOP

Photobucket
Welcome to another members blog hop....above is the list of fantastic blogs to visit..... you really do need to visit them all, they are an amazing group of wonderfully talented people, who will inspire you with their art depicting their phobias.
I have many things i dislike.... mice/rats and any rodent.....pink/ glitter/sparkly stuff...... but really i have just two real phobias.....one i cant even bring myself to depict in my art work..... the other is.....

..... i kept my piece simple.... black/white/grey with a splash of red. I used digital images and real stamps combined. I used promarkers to shade my images and ink to colour and distress my piece.

Come and check our the SMEARED AND SMUDGED FORUM......
Smeared and Smudged is an online community of rubber stampers and crafters who enjoy using alternative, gothic, edgy, and unique stamps in their designs. We thrive on different and unusual. We welcome the macabre and devious side of things, and most of all, we embrace ALL types and styles of art. Whether or not you “come to the dark side”, your creations should be a reflection of you. Here at Smeared and Smudged, the most important thing is being yourself.
I shall enter the following challenges with my 'fear' and hope that it doesnt offend anyone.
http://thestampingboutiquechallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ DISTRESS... i have ink distressed the whole page
http://craftypurplefrogchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ LETS GET DISTRESSED....ink distressed....and the subject distresses me greatly!
http://toptiptuesday.blogspot.co.uk/ SPOTTY AND DOTTY.... i have used SMEARED INK stamps to make my dotty and spotty background.
http://letsinkitup.blogspot.co.uk/p/challenge-rules.html DISTRESSING.... as above...lots of ink distressing.
Thanks for visiting ....i hope you enjoy the hop. Keep safe love lynx

  2. A sentiment shared by (almost) every parent I think Lynx. Your depiction though is beautiful in a style only you have mastered. The red really highlights everything and draws the eyes in.

Beautiful piece! The art work on this is wonderful, love the skulls, and the placement of them! Love the distressed look of it, and the splotchy background! Terrific job! I totally feel you on your phobia, no parent should out live their child. Great job my friend!

  19. Wow BlackDragon that is a great piece of explanation of a phobia. Perfect colors for such a sad event to happen. That's 3 death fear's so far on this phobia hop day.

  20. Hi Lynn,
LOVE your piece, it is very moving and the grayness of it all really drives home the message! PLUS gives it a vintage feel.

I think all parents have this on a fear list.
No parent should have to bury a child. Sadly, this just happened in our family, not a CHILD but still a child. One of my cousins just died, he was only 58- 7 years older than me. His mom is still alive in her very late 70s.

Try not to think too much about it!
    love you!

  30. Wow I can't even tell you how close this hits home! That is my biggest fear which has been magnified since last fall when 2 of my daughter's friends, 16 and 17, were killed in a car accident! I think about it almost every day. I love the artwork and coloring. I've always had a little dark side myself, love skulls...good thing I have boys too he he... Thanks for joining us at JDE for our 1st Challenge and good luck!

  31. I think this is definitely something that most parents have in the back of minds but try not to think about it, unless we have to. A really artistic creation. Thanks for joining in with our challenge over at LIIU, and good luck.

  32. Definately a fear parents have (but don't like to think about). I think you've portrayed your fear beautifully on this piece. The shading is amazing and the pop of real really works well against it, but isn't in your face (does that make since, it's supposed to be a compliment lol).
Thanks for joining us at forever Night Challenges this week.
