coloured with promarkers...... a piece of DP from CRAFTY CHAOS DESIGNS http://www.craftychaosdesigns.co.uk/ and a green ribbon. Not everyones idea of a 'santa' card but a dead santa is right up my alley!

Macabre mondays

Sorry its evening but it is still MONDAY so it has to be MACABRE and we have a new challenge for you and we are being sponsored by our very own SUSAN of CRAFTYCHAOS DESIGNS http://www.craftychaosdesigns.co.uk/....... our new challenge is 'Paper Pandemonium '... meaning you have to use 2 designer papers........
I have used 2 of the papers from the VELVET DESCENT collection from CRAFTYCHAOSDESIGNS.
I covered a gift box top in one of them and distressed the edges, and covered the 4sides of the bottom with a different paper..... and distressed that too. I didnt want to use an 'image' because i felt that the papers needed to take centre stage.....
I made a shabby-chic flower from the same paper as i used on the bottom of the box..... some crocheted mesh, black feathers and i silk flower under my flower...... i popped a tiny silver rose in the centre of the flower i made.




Inside the box is a necket i made.... i used one of tim holtz fragment/charm thingies and used diamond glaze to stick a piece of DP to the underside..... i added metal flowers, skulls, chains, beads a heart and a fairy.... this made a sort of goth-punk pendant thing....click on the pic to get a better look..... its hung from cord and ribbons.

I hope that you can join in with this very easy challenge and the prize is really worth having.... HONESTLY...... SUSAN DOES THE BEST DIGI PAPERS IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

STAMPITCRAZY

The new challenge at STAMPIT CRAZY starts today...... and its CHRISTMAS FREE-FOR-ALL,
thats right, anything goes as long as its christmassy...... OOOoohhhhh i am a BAH-HUMBUG and Christmas is really so NOT ME!
But i try my best and made a gift set..... card, box, and necklace, all with Christmas tinker.... a not so cute fairy from STAMPITCRAZY..... I love the look on her face.... i used 3 different sizes of digi-image.... but coloured them all the same, the card has a white background mounted onto a black card base....the sentiment is a digi from STAMPINSANITY http://stampinsanity.com/blog/ the box is all black, with the fairy decoupaged onto the top, and the necklace is a mother of pearl flower shaped pendant that i stuck the image to then glazed over.
I added some beads to the silver coloured chain just to give the pendant more of an OoMP!I hope you can join in this week..... ANYTHING CHRISTMASSY..... how hard can that be at this time of year?

Catch up for the week

This has been a crazy week..... sick children as well as oldies.......so i'm miles behind with everything! You really should see the ironing pile!!!!
Before i tell you about the new challenge at DELICIOUS DOODLES ...... POPPET was the winner of the image i used so if you want to contact me or Teri we'll get your image to you.
The new challenge being CELEBRATIONS..... i made a christmas card.... thought i better get started as its nearly december...... i used Teri's beautiful WOLF/MOON image, I kept the card very simple as the image is just so stunning....... black and silver card.... wide ribbon and a stamped and embossed sentiment.... job done.

I chose to make a bauble.... i used a polystyrene ball and covered it with black sequins ( my dad then informed me you can buy 'em ready done at the £ shops!..... but anyway...i did my own.... and used beads and metal bits i have kept from hairslides.... a recycled tassel, and gems.

It is quite heavy compared to normal baubles ...... so i hope my sisters tree is a strong one..... she loves purple and black. Thank you for reading this super long catch up post. I hope to be on time with my postings next week.

I kept my 3 pieces in the same colours..... the images are coloured with promarkers..... the box has 2 coats of vanish to seal the top, and give it a glass like shine....

..... the bag/key charm also has 2 coats of varnish..... and gold leaf around the edges.... i added black 'dangly charms' to the gold coloured chain as well.

MACABRE MONDAYS

Its MONDAY so it must be MACABRE!

We have a brand new challenge for starting today and its to MOVIE MAYHEM...NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.

When i think of this string of movies i think of Freddies blade-hand so thats what i went with. I used oil paint, black and white only, onto canvas..... i used a brush and my fingers.... my nails are still black.... and tried to depict the light just catching the edges of the blade and his hat.... my Dad cant see what any of it is, and my friend says its a dragons claw.... so hey-ho i think this one is a bit of a bummer! BUT i had fun!

I choose to use 2 TURTLE DOVES..... and used the image as a pattern for embossing onto copper.

I used this copper panel for the top of yet another gift box.

I used ribbon around the sides..... below is a close up of the detail..... This image is just perfect for putting onto metal.

Tuesday taggers

We have a new challenge for you this week over at TUESDAY TAGGERS , its been chosen by my teamie Janet and the challenge is to use LOVE, JOY, or PEACE..... one, two or all three of these words.
Now Janet is a christmas fan..... and to many people these words mean christmas..... but to a sad case like me.... my mind went to POE.
I love Poe...... so heres my offering on the theme for this challenge..... an altered domino made into a pendant. I used a SMEARED INK stamp from QUOTE THE RAVEN (see the post below to visit the shop), stamped my domino with stazon and coloured my image with whisper markers.
I used 3 coats of vanish to seal it.
I used a chain instead of a slip-ring and added some 'danglies' including the word 'LOVE'

I have hung it from cord and ribbon.... to match the purple of Edgars clothes.... not that you can tell they match from my photos!
Now to make the box to put it in!

Sorry i have been MIA for so long('puter problems..... yep it died!) but i'm now back with 2, well actually more than 2 things to share with ya.
Smeared ink http://smearedink.com/ have 4 brand new stamp sets available for pre-order so we, the DT are having a mini blog hop to show them off...... I was lucky and got to work with URBAN DECAY..... a full plate of wonderful bits and bobs and fantastic backgrounds. I also used wings from QUOTE THE RAVEN and 2 images from AS DEATH for this framed canvas piece.

This ATC used the new URBAN DECAY set and the skeleton is from AS DEATH.

Sorry i am llate with this today ....we have a new challenge at TUESDAY TAGGERS and it has been chosen by my dear teamie ZOE..... (SHES THE KIND SOUL WHO PUTS MY WORK UP EVERY WEEK!!!!! THANK YOU ZOE!)

.....and the challenge is 'A TOUCH OF THE ORIENT'.

I have stamped/decorated bamboo flat beads i brought at DE- STEMPELWINKEL ...the link is on my side bar.

I used stamps from various companies.... black stazon ink.... and red and brown ink to colour faintly my images.

I have on one side 'people' and the other 'nature'...... i have treaded it up onto chains with black square beads.

we hope that you'll come and join in with us this week..... please go and check out what the other DT girls have done..... a real mixed bag of crafting goodness!

MACABRE MONDAYS

It Monday....(ok..its monday evening!) so its gotta be MACABRE.... and the new challenge is FREAKERS FREE FOR ALL...... meaning do anything you like as long as its a bit creepy.
Here is yet another box.... this time its a heart shaped box.... i must be going soft in my old age.
Its painted black but has a coppery sheen to it...to complement the copper coloured german scrap i used around the opening edges.
The skull and banner on the top have been coloured with sukura pens..... the message reads 'LOVE KILLS SLOWLY'..... ya can tell i'm in a bleak mood!
Please come and join in this week...... i'm gonna miss all the Hallowe'en goings on and it'll be lovely to just see some creepy stuff..... before we're all bogged down the dreaded christmas stuff!
