De-stempelwinkel DT steampunk valentine trinket box.

This little wooden box has been altered using foil tape, paint and sand to give it a rusted metal look.

The gears are cut from silver card and given the same paint effect. The image is stamped and coloured with promarkers then ink distressed to make it appear dirty and well worn. I made the little envelope and pencils, grunged them up,then raided my bit boxes for the rest of the embellishments..... the leather trim around the side of the box is a bit of an old belt,

HDH MACABRE MONDAY

Well we have made it to the second challenge of the year, at HDH, without any casualties in the dungeon!
So far.

Our next challenge is:

Famous Last Words

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Hallowe'en based art piece

using a famous last line from a favourite book, poem, or movie.
Go even one better, and use a death bed confession
 or last utterance. Ohhh, creepy, right?

I went with the supposed last words of E.A.POE ...who else? My piece is a mix of digi and stamped images, coloured with promarkers and ink distressed in two shades of grey and lovely black. A white gel pen added the high lights.Basic matting and layering with black and gold for impact.

I have made a pocket (folded!) to hold the poem ''Quoth the Raven''.... this is the front....

Why blogger has decided that the next two photos have to be on their sides is a mystery to me :)
the Raven is on the back....and inside is the poem.

I have used a mix of digital and lovely real rubber stamps.... ink and promarkers to colour my images and card stock. I used a copper coloured metallic pen to do the fine edging lines.... ribbon, glitter ribbon and gems to decorate.
The wrap around my pocket card is vellum.... not real vellum i hasten to add.... i only found out what real vellum is actually made from  earlier this week and i was pretty amazed... eeek!
The vellum is TORN along the the long edges and RIPPED at the sides near the gems.

This project will do nicely for SMUDGY ANTICS this week as the theme is to INCLUDE A  POCKET.... and it'll do at HDH where we have a FREAKERS FREE FOR ALL..... come and join us at both if you can.
We also have a ANYTHING POE challebge running at QUOTH THE RAVEN...... so maybe you can join us their sometime soon too.... please...pretty gothic please?
The project below is my actual DT piece for all 3 this week but blogger has been such a pain in the backside that i couldnt post the photos......

 ....its a made from scratch pocket, pocket book..... the pages are hammered vellum paper.... the cover is covered with black velvet.... trimmed with leather, chains, hearts and a TH book plate framing POE.
There are 8 concealed pockets containing tags with black ribbons for easy removal.

Happy new year ..... CATCH UP and DE STEMPELWINKEL day.

 Sorry i have been MIA for a while now..... well since the last day of the CREEPMAS BLOG HOP with SMEARED and SMUDGED..... i found Christmas very emotional.... 1st  one without either of my oldies .... but i have a new grand dragon (grand daughter....born 12th November) so things didnt look so bleak to begin with.... but ..... the week before Christmas she was taken into hospital and remained there until new year..... as you can imagine most of the holiday season was spent at the hospital or beside the phone.
Anyway.....this photo shows her as she was Christmas eve..... such a darlin'...... shes now home and doing well..... i adore her....and love being a grand dragon.
Today is my day to post on the design team blog at DE-STEMEPELWINKEL and for January we have a love theme going....... i am no card maker but so far this month i've made two for that blog......

 ....above is todays offering...simple vintage style..... coloured with promarkers and ink..... below is my offering from 6th January..... more my usual style,,,,, DARK!  Both use stamps from  DE-STEMPELWINKEL of cause...... and bits from my stash.

 This ATC was my Christmas day offering for them as well...... rather traditional for me after the Creepmas hop.

 Finally on boxing day it was my turn to pick the challenge at DRAGONS DREAMS.....the challenge has now ended and a new one is running but i thought i'd show my tag anyway.......
