MACABRE MONDAY and SMUDGY ANTICS....A DAY LATE!

I am so sorry that i'm a day late posting my two DT pieces......

First up we have a great new challenge for you at SMUDGY ANTICS......

This week's theme is BLACK AND BLUE.

Take this theme however you wish. Black and Blue can be your color scheme, use the words Black and Blue in your sentiment, or bruise up some "normal" stamped image, etc. The more wild and creative you can get, the better!
We like it edgy and dark around here so show us what you've got!

......As you can see i made a bracelet using Poe..... the image is from SMEARED INK. (this is the digi version, from the QUOTH THE RAVEN SET) i printed the image onto turquoise paper, stuck 'em onto blank flat wooden beads, sanded/smoothed all the edges and used crackle glaze to seal them. Then added black and turquoise beads to space out the bracelet.

You can see the crackle better in the photo on the right.

I couldnt decide which witch i was so i made a mini book of all the witches i'd like to be....... the front cover has a stamped image witch from THIRD COAST....coloured with promarkers then triple embossed to make a tile.

The little book is made from one sheet of 12''x12'' paper, folded /cut to make a 3''x3'' mini.

ItKuPiLLi and MOONLIGHT JOURNEY ......Some i printed in B/W then coloured myself using promarkers.....so i cut about a bit....added hats to or gave glowing red eyes.

QUOTH THE RAVEN CHALLENGE #4

Can you believe its now time for our fourth challenge at QUOTH THE RAVEN?

The new challenge is THE BLACK CAT.......
Now, 'tis a sad Quest I give thee...... The tale of a man and his wife, and they shared between them a Cat. This latter was a remarkably large animal and entirely black. In speaking of his intelligence, the wife made frequent allusions to the popular notion which regarded all black cats as witches in disguise.His name was Pluto.All was well for some time until, the man was bitten by said Pluto, and in a state of intoxication, he took out it's eye and, subsequently, insanely vexed by the animal, he hung it from a tree. BUT, his deeds came back to haunt him and drive him further toward the edge of insanity - having killed his wife and bricked her body up in the cellar, he is at last undone in the most haunting of fashions.

I made a pocket book..... i sheet of A3 card folded,cut and pasted to make the page/pockets........ a scrap of thick card for the cover...... 3 wonderful images from IKESART http://www.ikesart.com/#!__digital-art-stamps ......
Journalling stamps...... some images from the internet..... and a dimensional cat face on the front.... 5x images fussy cut...... decoupaged, and dipped in my melting pot.

DRAGONS DREAM T.I.O

We have a new challenge to share with you today at DRAGONS DREAMS......

This time, it is the wonderful Wanda's turn to choose the subject matter, and her book is called "Bird Song" - set in WW1. So you can create a tag with a war theme/birds/ lost love..... take inspiration as i did from the book or just from the title......BIRDSONG.

I have never read the book but i have seen the cover..... remember you must make a TAG and it must have at least one real STAMP used on it somewhere.
I started iut with a kraft coloured tag that i stamped, then masked repeatedly in grey ink..... my background is made up from 5 different stamped images...then i stamped barbed wire over top in black.... i roughly coloured my background with distress inks. I searched my colection of stamps but had nothing suitable for my main image so i drew a similar image to the one on the front of the book onto thin paper...cut it out...coloured it all black with a promarker and stuck it onto my tag.

SMUDGY ANTICS and MACABRE MONDAY

Well its Monday again and i have 2 new wickedly macabre challenges to share with you.... the 1st one this week is SMUDGY ANTICS ......

The theme for this week's challenge is "Wicked With Wings".

We are curious to see your take on this challenge. What does "Wicked With Wings" mean to you? Are you afraid of flying stinging insects? Do demons haunt you in your sleep? Have you ever seen a fae? Is a bird your familiar?

My project took a fair bit of time....i know it doesnt look much...and its small....only 4''x4'' square..... but there was quite a bit of work involved. The base is a 4''x4'' wooden frame that i painted green, then when dry i distress painted with black. The scary skull is a digi image from SMEARED INK's ANATOMY101 collection printed out 6 times and fussy cut into layers.....hard to explain but i have a tutorial in the making and it'll be on the SMEARED AND SMUDGED forum later this week. I used the wings from QUOTE THE RAVEN rubber set also from SMEARED INK and stamped them out 4x....fussy cut into layers and stuck to the by now dimentional skull.... i then dipped it in my melting pot..... and spooned the liquid liquid embossing power over to make sure it was in all the nooks and crannies.

It really looks so much better in real life and its hard to believe it is just paper....and i think it looks really wicked.

"Garden of Good and Evil"

that illustrates the battle between good and evil that is fought
nightly in the garden of your imagination!
Show us the inhabitants of your garden,
be they gnomes, plant life, fauna, fae, or something else entirely!

My piece for this is another canvas....but using the wrong side ...... i distress painted it with a lawn green.... and painted a piece of scrap packaging with 3 different green paints i had laying around. I stamped ivy leaves onto the painted card and fussy cut every single darned leaf! Then touched up the colours to give them depth. The skeleton in my garden is a stamp from THIRD COAST.... stamped out 3x so i out decoupage up the skull and roses.

The fence and dappy looking skeletal sheep are from SMEARED INK's KILLER BOO PEEP rubber set as is the scary looking spider. I stamped them onto quite thick card,fussy cut them and built up my garden....''the garden of forever''
I forgot to mention...i used promarkers to colour all the images...the leaves were over coloured with soft touch pencils. I hope you'll have time to show us your gardens this week...we love to come and nosy around!

DELICIOUS DOODLES

Welcome to the new challenge at DELICIOUS DOODLES.... i'm sure that many of you will enjoy this one immensely....i found it pretty tough....as its

PINK....... PINK TO MAKE THE BOYS WINK.

I used Goth girl....one of the wonderful collection of 'darker' images that Teri sells....... i printed her out twice, so i could fussy cut one to use as a mask..... i then stamped over my masked image with a 'love-heart' stamp. My atc is coloured with promarkers and ink..... then matted onto black card stock. I hope you'll have time this fortnight to join in.

MACABRE MONDAY and SMUDGY ANTICS.

The winner of the BOX and choice of TRINKET from yesterday is LADY B.

Well its Monday and i have 2 wonderful new challenges to share with you today.

Over at SMUDGY ANTICS the new theme is RED HOT.

Take the theme as far as you want to go with it. This is Smudgy Antics and we like things edgy around here! Make it funny, scary, or sexy...just make it Hot...Red Hot!

I have used 2 images from SMEARED INK.... DOMINATRIX from the FEMDOM set and the wings from CRACKED HEART. I drew loads of flames and coloured them with promarkers..... fussy cut them and stuck them to a black card base....matted onto yellow then black again.

My lady and wings were also coloured with promarkers fussy cut then pasted onto the flame background. The sentiment was one of my lasses tattoos that i applied to yellow card.

We hope you'll join us this week...... don't forget...the more edgy,dark or risque the better at SMUDGY ANTICS.

After last weeks Freakers free for all that everyone seemed to have a lot of fun with, this week we have a great anti-valentine challenge for you.....and the theme is......

"Love Lies Bleeding"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
with depict LOVE in it's deadliest form - blood, angst, turmoil.

Now i had a lot of fun with this but trying to find images to do what i wanted to do wasnt easy.

I have used as my background a wonderful image from my fellow minion IKE

The hands holding a heart are from a colouring page off the internet..... its actually a colour your own frankenstein page, so i removed the tubes and stuff from the heart....so it looks more like the chappie has just ripped the heart from his sweethearts chest cavity....again the image is coloured with promarkers. I used glittered card stock words....yes i did say glittered..... i shall have to go lie down now.... and thats it...... i really do hope you can join us this week....and dont forget it has to be MACABRE!

BLOODY VALENTINE BLOG HOP DAY #3 with SMEARED and SMUDGED

Welcome to the 3rd and final day of our 3day BLOODY VALENTINE blog hop.
I hope you have been inspired by all the amazing pieces on offer.Today i have another 2 ATC's to share with you. The one above uses a DELICIOUS DOODLES digi image that i masked and stamped over with the heart from SMEARED INKS CANDY IS DANDY rubber stamp set. The sentiment is from DE-STAMPELWINKEL.

The ATC below is the same heart, masked and stamped with mesh from SMEARED INK, QUOTH THE RAVEN set. Both ATC's are coloured with promarkers.

Yep...they are both shocking PINK.
Now i couldnt really go 3 whole days without doing a POE piece could i? So todays box has the master on...... i'll be giving it away to our random winner who comments on all todays blog hop posts,i'll announce it tomorrow about 8pm, with the winners choice of trinket from my 'trinkets and more' blog.

Because i cant stand empty boxes....and for the sake of the photo (and my POE fix!) this is the bracelet thats in the box.

BLOODY VALENTINE BLOG HOP DAY #2 with SMEARED and SMUDGED

WINNER OF THE BOX AND CHOICE of 'TRINKET' from the 1st day is MARYKAY.

Today i have a couple of ATC's to share with you.

This one is using QUOTH THE RAVEN rubber stamps from SMEARED INK..... i stamped and masked the heart, then over stamped with the mesh. Coloured everything with promarkers and ink....white gel pen for the highlights.

The words come from a set of rubber stamps from DE-STEMPELWINKEL.

The above ATC has a digi sentiment..... after i printed it out i cut it to size and stamped on it using INKY DREAMS from SMEARED INK. I printed out, coloured in with promarkers and fussy cut the hand/heart image from SMEARED INK and stuck it on...i wish i could do digi work...instead of having to 'cut'n'paste'.

Here is todays box..... todays is pink, not red..... although the 'tile' on top looks red.... once again it'll be given away to someone who has commented on all the blogs doing this hop....and they'll get the choice from my 'TRINKETS' blog of what goes in it.... this watch bracelet was put in the box just so it looked nice..... although if you win you can always chose it.....the winner will be announced at about 8pm GMT tomorrow, on here and on the SMEARED AND SMUDGED FORUM.

The box started out a plain boring battleship grey so i altered it, inside and out.... you'll have to believe me that the inside is done.

QUOTH THE RAVEN CHALLENGE #3

We had some truly wonderful entries for our last challenge at QUOTH THE RAVEN.....thank you so much for sharing in our passion for Poe. Our new challenge is to take inspiration from Poe's last complete poem ANNABEL LEE ..... (I think its one of the most beautiful and moving love poems ever written....but i would, wouldn't i?)

So here's my piece depicting the story in a shadow box.(made from a deep frame, i added the compartments.)
The 4 images are from IKESART http://www.ikesart.com/#!__digital-art-stamps , the poem is from the internet, printed onto parchment. Each compartment is backed with dp that i stamped on and altered with distress inks.
Ikes lovely images are coloured with promarkers and crackle stamped over with tea dye distress ink....very subtle.....and the edges darkened with black soot. I made a headstone out of air dry clay.... big mistake....its taken 3 days to dry!..... also a stone window.... i used a cherrypie stamp for that..... but again it took ages to dry.
I have included loads of bits and bobs..... sea shells ....as the poem is set by the sea..... hearts, for love....flowers....buttons....feathers, little stones ....rings tied together, to symbolize marriage..... velvet ribbon, tuille..... and little candles.......
the images in the shadow box tell the story..... on the top.... Annabel ....beautiful happy and in love.... in the centre... left....becoming ill with the cold wind blowing.... on the right she lays dead...

on the bottom row, her grave and her love, alone waiting to be with her again.

I used a small angel in the corner.... it was a fridge magnet that i altered.

Sorry for the long post...... but this has taken me 4 days to complete..... i hope you'll have time this fortnight to join us..... with Valentines day just around the corner maybe you have a lost love to remember?A lot of us do.

Well another week has flown by and its Monday again..... so today i have two new challenges for you, both a really really easy ones so lets start with SMUDGY ANTICS.....

our challenge for you this week is...

ANYTHING GOES.

I have used Two images from the MERBABES, from SMEARED INK. Coloured with promarkers and distress inks.

I then overstamped my ATC using pale blue chalk ink and brushed over some pearl white perfect pearls. I was trying to achieve the glimmer you get when you look through water....

have i succeeded?

That's right... the Mistress has been slacking, so everyone gets to benefit with a laid-back, no-holes-barred, do-WTF-ever-you-want challenge!

So there you have it.... FREAKERS FREE FOR ALL.....meaning ANYTHING GOES...but with a MACABRE twist.

I have used another of the newly released hearts from SMEARED INK.

I printed out my sentiment and hands on one piece of card...and another hand image to use as a mask...fussy cut it and laid it over the image. I stamped 'splatters' and mesh (the mesh is from Quote the raven..smeared ink) over my image. I used promarkers and ink to colour my piece...and a white pen for highlights.

I then used a black and red card stock, and a pretty border to finish this off beat ATC holder.

Well i hope to see you play along this week.... think twisted and strange ...... but whatever you like!

SMEARED INK NEW RELEASE

SMEARED INK have a wonderful new set of VALENTINE DIGI'S out......... you can buy the full set or you can buy them singularly.
I have used a couple or three of the images to make the two ATC's below..... and i used the mesh from QUOTH THE RAVEN digi set as well.
